On Thursday morning, a factory’s minibus and a stone-laden tipper collided at Bija Chowk in Khanna, Ludhiana. The bus overturned in the accident, injuring more than 20 women workers. Out of these, the condition of 10 women is critical. They are being treated in the hospital.
According to the information, women working in a private factory in Doraha were going to work by bus as usual. While the bus was stopping at Bija Chowk, a speeding tipper hit it from the side. After the collision, the bus overturned and the women started screaming.
People took out the injured women
People present on the spot took out the injured women from the bus. All were taken to Khanna Government Hospital by ambulance. According to eyewitnesses, both the vehicles were moving at a high speed. The drivers could not control the vehicles.
Police is investigating the matter
Local Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh said that the reason for the accident was the high speed of the vehicles. The bus driver says that the tipper suddenly hit. The injured women also repeated the same thing. Road Safety Force sub-inspector Sukhdev Singh reached the spot with his team. Police has taken both the vehicles into custody and started investigation. The injured are being treated in the hospital.
