Anandpur Sahib: Now the journey of people going from Chandigarh or Punjab to Una in Himachal Pradesh via Anandpur Sahib will become easier. The central government has approved making the road from Kiratpur Sahib to Mehatpur a four-lane road.
Work on this project will begin in the next three months. This claim has been made by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. He said that three companies will work on this project.

So that this project can be completed soon on priority basis. Apart from this, people should not be burdened by toll. For this, a demand has been made to Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Was in constant touch with the central government since 2022
Bains said that he was working on this project since April 2022. Many people have lost their lives on this road. Many accidents happened due to it being a single road. He continuously contacted the central government regarding the road.
After a year, the central government accepted that the road is necessary. Also, a consultant will be hired and a survey will be conducted for this. After this, a surveyor was appointed. They were constantly in touch with the surveyor. Now, this project has been approved.
Had met Union Gadkari in November
In November 2024, I met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari regarding the project. I told him about the importance of this road. When it was at the approval stage. He showed a big heart and approved the road. Along with this, a small bypass has been approved for Sri Anandpur Sahib.
So that people will not face any problem during Hola Mohalla. Accidents will be stopped by the construction of this road. He told that now there are four flyovers in this area. At the same time, employment opportunities will also increase.
