Chandigarh: The sixth round of meeting between the central government and the agitating farmers will be held in Chandigarh on February 22 at 6 pm. An official letter has been issued by the central government regarding the meeting. Meanwhile, the hunger strike of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal at Khanauri border has entered the 87th day.
The first death anniversary of farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who lost his life in the movement, is being observed by the farmers on the 21st. During this, tribute programs will be organized at Shubhkaran’s village Ballo (Bathinda) and all three borders. Before this, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal will address the media today (20 February). During this, he will make important announcements.
Sirsa underwent heart surgery
Farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa suffered a heart attack on February 12, just before the Mahapanchayat. After this, he was admitted to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. From where he was taken to Amritsar in critical condition. Where his heart surgery was successful. However, he is still admitted in the ICU. He had undergone heart surgery earlier as well.
On the other hand, on February 14, while going to a meeting with the central government, the car of farmer leader Kurburu Shantakumar met with an accident near Patiala. He was seriously injured in this. After this, he was shifted to Bangalore via air ambulance. Where he underwent spinal surgery.
Before the meeting, suggestions were sought from the people on MSP
Before the death anniversary of Shubhkaran, a group of farmers left for Ballo village on foot from Sirsa. At the same time, farmer leaders have decided to take suggestions from the people on MSP before the meeting with the central government.
People can give their suggestions by reaching Khanauri, Shambhu or Ratnapura front.
Unity meeting with SKM on 27th
There will be a meeting with the United Kisan Morcha this month on the unity proposal of Shambhu and Khanauri Morcha. Both the forums have sent an invitation to SKM for the meeting. The meeting has been scheduled for February 27 in Chandigarh. However, before this, a meeting of Kisan Mazdoor Morcha was held with SKM on February 12.
The leaders of SKM (non-political) did not attend this meeting. Because there was a Mahapanchayat of farmers on Khanauri border that day. Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad had told at that time that due to the Mahapanchayat, the leaders from his side were not able to attend the unity meeting.
