Last rites of Shubh Karan Singh yet to complete, Farmers to observe pan-India Black Day today

Tractor Demonstration will be done on February 26 all over the country.

New Delhi: Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) demanded registration of an FIR on Thursday over the death of a protesting farmer on the Punjab-Haryana border and said that a tractor march will be taken out along with observing Black Day on Friday in protest against this incident.

On the farmers’ movement, Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that dialogues were being held with the Punjab Government after the death of Shubh Karan Singh.

He said that Punjab Government has accepted demands of the farmers that were cases to be registered under section 302 against who attacked farmers, status of ‘Martyr’ to deceased youth farmer Shubh Karan Singh. Farmers also discussed about financial assistance to be given to the family.

It has also been decided that a board will be constituted for his (deceased farmer) post mortem and videography will be done.

Sarwan Singh Pandher also added that dialogues with the Punjab government are yet to complete therefore last rites of Shubhkaran Singh will not be performed as of now.

Major Decisions in the Meeting of SKM

After the competition of meeting with farmers leaders, major decisions were announced by the members of SKM. It was decided that today farmers will be observing pan India Black day to demonstrate against the atrocities of government on farmers.


Tractor Demonstration will be done on February 26 all over the country. On March 14, an All India Kisan Mazdoor Maha panchayat will be held here at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi.
