Chandigarh: A case of midnight firing has come to light at the taxi stand outside GMCH in Sector-32, Chandigarh. During this, two youths were seriously injured. One has been shot in the hand and the other in the neck. The reason for the incident is said to be an old rivalry. Both the injured have been identified as Rajesh alias Rocky, a resident of Nayagaon and Honey Bhardwaj, a resident of Sector-41. They have been admitted to the hospital. The police is investigating the matter.

Rajesh was sitting at the taxi stand with his acquaintance Honey. Rajat, a resident of Kharar Sunny Enclave, had gone there with his friend Kunal and others. Rajat had to organize a langar on Navratri along with Rajesh and Kunal. A strategy was being made for the same. At that time, a youth named Sunny came there.

The eyewitness told the police that Sunny asked Rajesh for a cigarette and sat for some time. After this, the sound of a gunshot was heard. Honey fell on the ground. Rajesh has been shot in the hand. Both the accused fled after the attack.

It has been found out that about five years ago, Rajesh, his brother Rajinder, Dharampal, Kaku and Zirakpur’s Lodi (now dead) had parked an ambulance at the taxi stand. Later, due to some reason, both of them separated. Rajesh along with his friends had beaten up a driver named Manish badly. Rajesh’s friends have also told the police about this. However, who carried out the attack will be clear only after the attackers are caught.
