Chandigarh: The Punjab government has taken major action in the jail interview case of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to the information received, DSP Gursher Singh has been dismissed from the Home Department. This action against the DSP has been taken in the jail interview case of Lawrence Bishnoi. This is the first major action taken by the department after the High Court orders.
Let us tell you that the Punjab and Haryana High Court had also ordered action against higher officials in this case. After which this action has now been taken. The orders in this regard have been issued by the Secretary of the Home Department, Gurkirat Kirpal Singh.
The orders issued clearly state that DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu has been negligent in his duty during the interview of gangster Lawrence in the custody of CIA Kharar. Due to this the image of the Punjab Police has been badly damaged.
His failure to perform his duty properly is a gross violation of the discipline and conduct rules of the Punjab Police. Therefore, for the above reasons, he is dismissed from the post of DSP in Punjab Police under the powers vested in him under Article 311 of the Constitution.
