Ludhiana all decked up for Holi; 300 police personnel deployed

Holi festival is being celebrated with great pomp in Ludhiana, Punjab today. About 300 police personnel have been deployed on the roads to control the miscreants. Police officers of all the police stations will also do special blockades. The police will strictly deal with miscreants. More than 50 checkpoints have been set up in the city from 10 am to 6 pm. Those who do not follow the traffic rules will be challaned.

Today, women are celebrating the festival of colors Holi with great pomp by throwing a lot of abir-gulal in South City, Sutlej Club, Nirvana Club. At the same time, men and children along with women are also seen painted in the colors of Holi. Special PCR squads have been deployed for the miscreants roaming around on bikes outside major colleges and PGs. PCR vehicles with digital CCTV have been deployed at many places.

Alco meters are also being installed at many checkpoints so that the police can catch drunk drivers. The police have appealed to the people to celebrate Holi at home with their families instead of on the streets.

Today, religious programs will be organized in the major temples of the city including Shri Gobind Godham, Shri Krishna Mandir Model Town, Shri Krishna Mandir Model Town Extension, Shri Durga Mata Mandir Jagraon Bridge.
