Ludhiana, June 29: On Sunday morning, a speeding Audi car crushed 3-4 people outside GK Estate on Bhamiyan Road in Ludhiana. In the accident, a roadside vendor died, while 3 others were injured.
People present at the spot say that the driver of the car was drunk. According to eyewitnesses, due to high speed, the car lost its balance and the steering turned, due to which people standing on the roadside got hit by it.
The local people immediately caught the young man, who was drunk.
The people present there also made a video of it. After this, the police was informed about the incident. The police is investigating the matter and action is being taken against the driver.
People said that the police reached the spot about 1 hour after the incident. Even before the police arrived, a person took the driver of the AUDI car in a Swift car and fled.
Investigating by taking CCTV into custody
ASI Balwinder Singh said that information was received from the police control room that a speeding AUDI car driver has crushed several people. It has been learned that the car is from Chandigarh. People told that a street vendor and a bullet bike rider have been hit by the car.
Balvinder Singh said that he will go to the hospital and get information about the injured. The driver of the car is absconding, he will be caught soon. CCTV footage of the incident has been found. Police is searching the car. Some documents and items have been found which have been seized.
