Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, a young man who was returning home from work late at night on a bicycle was surrounded by bike-borne robbers. The miscreants attacked him with an axe. When the youth resisted, they hit him on the head with an axe and snatched his mobile. His friends brought him to the civil hospital in a blood-soaked condition.
The man was severely injured when he reached the hospital. The wound was deep and to control the blood loss, the man got 20 stitches. Injured Deepu’s brother-in-law Ripu said that they work as wood carvers in Samrala Chowk. Last night, around 8:45, they were returning home from work. Deepu was ahead of them on a bicycle. The miscreants on a bike started following them from some distance. They surrounded Deepu near Cheema Chowk bridge near Ghoda Chhaap Road.
When he resisted, they attacked him with an axe. He tried to save Deepu from the miscreants but they also attacked him with an axe and injured his hand. The doctors have asked to get an MRI scan done of Deepu’s head.
Police too have taken note of the incident and an investigation has been started by the police.
