Ludhiana Bypoll result: AAP’s Sanjeev Arora leading by 2286 votes after sixth round

Voting for this was held on June 19, with 51.33% of the voters participating.

Counting has started on the Ludhiana West assembly seat of Punjab. Postal ballots were counted first in the auditorium of Khalsa College for Women.  Counting of votes will be done in 14 rounds. After the second round of voting, AAP Candidate Sanjeev Arora is now ahead by 2482 votes.

First Round

After the first round of voting, AAP candidate Sanjeev got a lead of 1269 votes. He got 2895 votes. Congress’s Bharat Bhushan Ashu got 1626 votes, BJP’s Jiwan Gupta got 1177 votes, and Akali Dal’s Parupkar Singh Ghuman got 703 votes.

 

Counting of Votes

Before the counting, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora paid obeisance with his family at Sangla Shivalaya temple.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is running the government in the state, has fielded Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora from here. In such a situation, there is a discussion about whether, if he wins this election, AAP supremo and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal can be elected to the Rajya Sabha in his place. During, election Arvind Kejrwal announced that if voted to power, Sanjeev Arora will be made Cabinet Minister next day after the declaration of results.

Congress has fielded 2-time winner, former minister Bharat Bhushan Ash,u from this seat. At the same time, Upkar Singh Ghuman has contested on behalf of the Akali Dal and Jeevan Gupta on a BJP ticket.

AAP candidate Gurpreet Gogi won this Ludhiana West seat in 2022. However, he died of a bullet injury a few months ago. After this, a by-election was held here.
