The supply of drugs in the Central Jail located in Ludhiana, Punjab, is not stopping. A warden of the Central Jail has been arrested by the police of Thana Division Number 7. The warden is accused of supplying tobacco to the prisoners in the Central Jail.
Sources have revealed that a packet of tobacco is supplied in the jail for up to Rs 500. The accused warden has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, resident of village Singhewala Fazilka.
The packets of tobacco were stuck with tape on the feet
According to the information, warden Gurpreet Singh came home at midnight wearing a sock over it, sticking a packet of tobacco on his feet with tape. When he was searched on suspicion, a packet of tobacco and tape on his feet were found.
Assistant Superintendent Surjeet Singh has registered a case against the accused under Sections 42,45,52-Athe Prison Act. The past record of the accused warden is also being investigated to find out since when he has been supplying tobacco or other items in the jail.
