Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, the CIA-2 team has arrested gangster Sumit Sabharwal, alias Nanu. The arrested miscreant had fired at a house in Shaheed Karnail Nagar three days ago. Nanu is close to gangster Sagar Newton. On Sagar Newton’s behest, he fired three bullets outside a house with the help of his two other associates.
CCTV video of the firing had also surfaced. The police of Dugri police station are also continuously conducting search operations to find Sagar Newton and his associates. The police are continuously raiding the houses of Sagar Newton and his associates.
Giving information, DGP Investigation Amandeep Singh Brar said that the police team had received information that Sumit Sabharwal, alias Nanu, a resident of Gali No. 1 Shahi Mohalla, is close to gangster Sagar Newton. He, along with his accomplices, fired at the house of Lal Chand alias Gopi, a resident of Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar, on July 8.
The police had registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act. Nanu was arrested at a playground near the village Jandiali Chandigarh Road. A 32-bar Desi pistol and one live 32-bar round were recovered from the miscreant.
The accused admitted that he brought the pistol from Madhya Pradesh. Four cases have already been registered against Nanu under the Arms Act and other sections. The team of CIA-2 in-charge, Bikramjit Singh, arrested the miscreant. The accused will be produced in court, and police remand will be taken so that Sagar Newton can also be arrested soon.
