Ludhiana: The NIA has taken action against four accused in the 2021 bomb blast case in the court premises in Ludhiana, Punjab. The NIA has seized the property of all four accused. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) said that the person who detonated the bomb with IED died in the blast on 23 December 2021.
The name of the deceased was Gagandeep Singh and 6 others were injured in the incident. After investigating the case, acting on the order of the NIA Special Court in Mohali, the agency has seized a total of 15 Kanal 19 Marla of accused Surmukh, village Kotli Kheda, a total of 27 Kanal 16 Marla of accused Dilbagh Singh Baggo, village Chakk Allah Baksh, a total of 27 Kanal 1 Marla of accused Harpreet Singh Happy Malaysia, village Mandi Khurd and 15 Marla of village Bakkha Hari Singh and a total of 15 Kanal 18 Marla of Rajanpreet Singh of village Kolowal Amritsar.
The NIA investigation revealed that the blast was carried out at the behest of Lakhbir Singh Rode, the head of the Pakistan-based International Youth Federation (ISYF).
Sandeep Kaur (31 years) of Rajkot village in Ludhiana and Sharanjit Kaur (25 years) of Jamalpur, injured in the blast, were admitted to the Civil Hospital. Manish Kumar (32 years), a resident of Police Colony, was admitted to CMC Ludhiana. Kuldeep Singh Mand (50 years) and Krishan Khanna (75 years) were treated at DMC Ludhiana. Apart from this, another man was injured too.
The blast occurred in the bathroom on the third floor of the Ludhiana Court Complex. Due to this, two walls of the bathroom collapsed and the floor broke and fell on the second floor. After the blast, a mutilated body was found on the spot. It was suspected that this body was of the person who was fitting the bomb. His face and legs were blown to pieces in this blast.
