Ludhiana: Cycle rider crushed to death by speeding truck

The police of Sarabha Nagar police station kept the body in the mortuary of the civil hospital.

Ludhiana: A cycle rider died in a road accident on the elevated bridge on Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana, Punjab at around 9 pm last night. The cyclist was crushed by a speeding truck coming from behind. The severity of the accident can be understood by this that the deceased could not be identified.

The police of Sarabha Nagar police station kept the body in the mortuary of the civil hospital. The mobile of the person who died in the accident was damaged. The police have taken it in their possession and started identifying him by removing the SIM. The rider sustained injuries and succumbed to them.

No identity card was found with the deceased

According to ASI Subhash Raj, investigating officer of Sarabha Nagar police station, he had received information that a speeding truck had badly crushed a cyclist on the elevated bridge. When the police reached the spot, the person had already died.

Accused truck driver arrested

With the help of passersby, the police have kept the body of the deceased in the mortuary of the civil hospital. The police, who reached the spot, have arrested the truck driver along with the truck.
