Ludhiana: Elderly woman kicked out from house by son, case lodged

She alleged that her son used to beat her and took away all her pension money.

Ludhiana: In a shocking incident in Ludhiana, an elderly mother was thrown out of the house by her son. Santosh Rani, an elderly woman narrated the ordeal herself and demanded justice from the police. She alleged that she had been tortured verbally and physically by her son and his wife. Santosh Rani lives near Tajpur road, Buddha Dariya near Radha Swami Satsang Ghar. She alleged that her son used to beat her and took away all her pension money.

Talking about her children, She mentioned that she has four children, three sons and a girl. Despite having three sons, no one is ready to take care of her, she added. She further added that her daughter is married in Ambala and out of three sons two live in Ludhiana while one is also there in Ambala.

The elderly woman’s youngest son, Pawan Kumar used to beat her over small things and yesterday threw her out of the house. Later the mother was spotted by a social activist Bhola, who took her to Tibba Police Station and a complaint was lodged against the said son and his wife. He further noted that arrangements are being made to send the elderly woman to a shelter house where she can live peacefully and have a meal of two times.

The wife of the second son who was called to the police station denied such allegations and added that she is ready to take care of her mother-in-law but she is not willing to live with them. Varsha, daughter-in-law of Santosh Rani on the other hand accused her own husband of physical abuse.
