Ludhiana, May 1: In a major breakthrough against organised crime, the Commissionerate Police of Ludhiana apprehended a key member of the notorious Landa Gang following a dramatic cross-firing incident in Village Sahibana.
The encounter unfolded when the member, who had been under surveillance, opened fire on a police team that had cornered him. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, the accused sustained critical injuries and was immediately taken into custody. One illegal weapon and several live cartridges were recovered from the spot.
The arrested gangster has been linked to a recent firing incident on a house in the jurisdiction of Police Station Division No. 2. That attack, which occurred on April 20, 2025, led to the registration of FIR No. 45. In connection with the same case, another accused named Akshay was arrested earlier on April 29.
Further investigation into the gang’s operations is ongoing.
