Ludhiana, May 29: Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Advocate Parupkar Singh Ghuman also filed his nomination today. During this, former cabinet minister Hira Singh Gabria, former education minister Daljit Singh Cheema and former MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon were present with him. The Akali leadership of the district was also seen supporting him.
So far, an independent candidate, Engineer Baldev Raj Devi has also filed his nomination. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has declared Navneet Gopi as its candidate. He is active in the election campaign and is appealing to the people to vote wisely.
Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu filed his nomination today. On this occasion, State Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarendra Singh Raja Warring, Jalandhar MP and former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, and party’s state in-charge Bhupesh Baghel were also present.
Before filing his nomination, Bharat Bhushan Ashu held a press conference at his office in Sandhu Tower on Ferozepur Road and then reached the DC office with a huge crowd of workers. There were about 200 to 250 vehicles in his convoy, due to which Ferozepur Road was completely jammed.
