As it is the last day of campaigning, rallies and road shows will be organised by all parties. Many ministers and MLAs of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be busy campaigning today. On the other hand, from the BJP, party president Sunil Jakhar and Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu are also active in the campaign. Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal leaders are also busy campaigning. At the same time, liquor shops will also be closed from six o’clock in the evening today. The shops will remain closed till six o’clock in the evening on June 19.

The seat became vacant after the death of the MLA

Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Gogi died of a gunshot wound at his home on January 14. After this, the seat fell vacant. The Election Commission had announced a by-election on May 25, after which the political atmosphere in Ludhiana heated up. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded industrialist and Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora here. Congress has fielded former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, the BJP has fielded Jeevan Gupta, and Shiromani Akali Dal has fielded Upkar Singh Ghuman.

AAP ministers will hold a press conference

On behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Dr. SS Ahluwalia will hold a press conference in Ludhiana today. While other parties have scheduled programs. 19th is declared a holiday

District Election Officer Himanshu Jain said that Thursday (19 June) has been declared a paid holiday for the voters of Ludhiana West Assembly constituency to cast their votes for the Ludhiana West by-election. Every person working in any business, trade, industrial or any other organization

And any person entitled to vote in the Ludhiana West by-election shall be granted paid leave. No deduction shall be made in the salary of any such person on account of leave. In addition, if any owner violates the provisions of sub-section (1) or sub-section (2), such owner shall be liable to fine and penalty.

235 cameras will be used for monitoring

Transparent and smooth process will be adopted at 194 polling stations of Ludhiana West by-election. State Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C has held a high level meeting regarding election preparations. It has been decided in the meeting that 235 high-resolution CCTV cameras will be installed at polling booths, out of which 194 cameras are inside the polling stations and 41 cameras are outside. District Election Officer Himanshu Jain said that live streaming of the voting process will be possible on June 19 with these cameras equipped with high speed internet connectivity.
