Taking the investigation forward, now the owner of Sahib Chemicals and his son, who were caught in Ludhian,a are being investigated. So fa,r it has come to light that the main accused, Sahib Singh had ordered 50 liters of methanol from Pankaj Kumar alias Sahil and Arvind Kumar, owners of Sahil Chemicals located in Sukh Enclave, Ludhiana.

Pankaj and Arvind have told the police that the accused had asked for this methanol from them in the name of making soap, but he used it to make liquor.

After the arrest of both, now the Excise Department and ETO-GST of Ludhiana have also become active. The records of Sahib Chemicals have been seized. They are collecting information about every person who used to buy methanol from Sahib Chemicals.

On the other hand, the problems of the health department teams have not been reduced yet. So far, the death toll has reached 23, but it is also expected to increase, because the condition of 10 people remains critical.

DC of Amritsar, Sakshi Sawhney, on Wednesday also advised the people drinking alcohol in the area to get a medical checkup. If any person is showing even the slightest symptoms, they are also being taken to the hospital for examination.

On Wednesday, a team arrested father-son duo Ravinder Jain and Rishabh Jain, owners of Bharat Heavy Chemicals, which supplies methanol. Both of them were brought to Amritsar late on Wednesday night and will be produced in court today and remanded.
