Chandigarh: Security for individuals is determined based on a systematic assessment of threat perception. This assessment is conducted by a dedicated Security Review Committee, which regularly evaluates the levels of risk and adjusts security measures as necessary. Recently, Special DGP Arpit Shukla announced that the security detail for Majithia has been scaled down following a review by this committee.
Despite the reduction in personnel and resources, Shukla stressed that adequate security remains in place for Majithia. He confirmed that Majithia continues to have an escort vehicle and gunmen accompanying him, ensuring his safety. This adjustment reflects the ongoing commitment to safeguarding individuals while adapting to changing threat levels.
The decision to scale down security measures is not uncommon and is part of a broader strategy to allocate resources effectively based on real-time risk assessments. The Security Review Committee plays a crucial role in this process, analyzing various factors that may affect the safety of public figures.
Shukla reiterated that the focus remains on maintaining a sufficient security presence to protect individuals from potential threats while also being responsive to the current security landscape. This adaptable approach aims to balance the need for security with the efficient use of law enforcement resources. The ongoing review process ensures that security measures can be enhanced or adjusted as circumstances evolve, ultimately prioritizing the safety of all individuals involved while addressing dynamic challenges.
