Major Blow to Punjab Congress, Gurpreet Singh GP joins AAP

Gurpreet Singh GP had been angry ever since former CM Channi's brother from Bassi Pathana contested the assembly elections against him.

Sri Fatehgarh sahib: Finally Former MLA from Bassi Pathana, Gurpreet Singh GP has joined Aam Aadmi Party. The induction was done in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Punjab congress has suffered a major blow. Big news is coming from Fatehgarh Sahib. Former MLA Gurpreet Singh GP is all set to join hands of the Aam Aadmi Party. Gurpreet Singh has reached the residence of the Punjab Chief Minister where he will formally join AAP.


Gurpreet Singh GP had been angry ever since former CM Channi’s brother from Bassi Pathana contested the assembly elections against him. The GP continuously demanded that action should be taken against the breakdown of discipline in the party. When Channi contested the elections, Channi supported his brother while inside, GP said.

GP held Channi responsible for leaving Congress and said that Chief Minister level leaders are working to weaken small workers and leaders in Congress. There is no such thing as discipline in the party.

After Channi became a member of CWC, his relatives again started interfering in my constituency.

“I am willing to contest the Lok Sabha elections. In the next two days, the Aam Aadmi Party will decide whether I will contest from Sri Fatehgarh Sahib seat or not.” GP said.


“Seeing the policies of CM Bhagwantman and being impressed by his work, I have joined Aam Aadmi Party. This is the real party which talks about the poor among the poor.” GP added
