Make Environment a part of Election agenda: Congress Candiadte Former CM Charanjit Singh Channi meets Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal

Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi while addressing Sant Seechewal said that Punjab owes him a lot

Jalandhar: Former Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi and Congress candidate from jalandhar bowed down at Nirmal Kutia Seechewal. He also took blessings from environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal. On this occasion, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal apprised him about the deteriorating environmental condition of Punjab.  

Sant Seecheval handed over the environmental agenda to former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi during the Lok Sabha elections. He asked Channi to make this agenda a part of his election campaign. Sant Seechewal said that Jalandhar is the most sensitive of the districts affected by climate change. Referring to the report of World Wide Fund for Nature, Sant Seechewal said that there will be a drinking water crisis in 30 cities of the country including Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Amritsar by 2025.

Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi while addressing Sant Seechewal said that Punjab owes him a lot. Channi called Sant Seechewal above politics and said that he has served passionately for the goodwill of Punjab.

He said that in the events organized on the occasion of the 550th year of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the works of Sant Seechewal were also appreciated. Channi said that he got very little time as Chief Minister. He has prepared a complete road map to clean the rivers of Punjab. He added  that according to the message given by Guru Nanak Dev ji, Sant Seechewal ji is serving Punjab.

Charanjit Singh Channi said that if Congress comes to power in Punjab, they will hand over the keys of Punjab’s development to Sant Seechewal. He said that people will be healthy only if the environment of Punjab remains clean.

Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal gave Mandakani sapling to former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and asked him to give the message of planting saplings during the election campaign. After getting information about Madakani saplings given by Sant Seechewal, Channi demanded that more saplings be given to him so that he could plant them in his brothers’ houses as well.
