Malerkotla youth dead dies under suspicious circumstances in De-addiction center, family alleges assault

Malerkotla: In a de-addiction center at village Maholi Kalan under Malerkotla’s Sandod police station, a youth of Guara village was declared dead under suspicious circumstances. The deceased youth has been identified as Ramandeep Singh. The family members of the deceased have alleged that the de-addiction center is responsible for this after which the police have.

The family members of the deceased have alleged that the de-addiction center is responsible for this after which the police have registered a case against the manager of the center.

In this regard, the sister of deceased Ramandeep Singh, Hardeep Kaur has alleged that Ramandeep was admitted to a de-addiction center at Samrala near Rajewal, but later without any reason he was shifted to center at Maholi Kalan. Police have lodged complaint in this matter on statements based on the family members.

On September 8, the owner of the center called and said that Ramandeep Singh had died due to a heart attack. he told the family that dead body is in the hospital at Ludhiana and told them to take it. A case has been filed at the Sandaud police station following the allegations made by the family of beating up the youth in the de-addiction center.

Inspector Yadwinder Singh said that under sections 105 and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code, a case has been registered against Sukhwinder Singh, who is running that center. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem and the proceedings are on.
