Jalandhar: Panic spread after the body of an unknown person was found near Mehatpur town of Jalandhar. Police have recovered the body near village Umrewal Billa. The body has been sent for postmortem. An unknown motorcycle was also found parked near the body whose number was PB-08-A-4653. The body has not been identified and police is investigating to identify the body.
On receiving the information, SHO Gurnam Singh of Mehatpur police station reached the spot and investigated. According to the police, it seems that the said person was a victim of an accident and died due to lack of help.
He said that the body could not be identified. Also, the body will remain in the said hospital for 72 hours. If the deceased is not identified after 72 hours, then his postmortem will be done and the administration itself will perform the last rites.
According to the information received, the police is currently investigating whether the said person was murdered and thrown away or it was an accident. Both things will be clear only from the postmortem.
