A massive fire broke out due to a short circuit in Octave, a branded clothing outlet located in Field Ganj, Ludhiana. The fire engulfed the first floor in no time. Some employees standing below the showroom immediately raised the alarm after seeing smoke coming out from the first floor. The showroom was closed from all sides, which made it difficult to extinguish the fire.
People nearby also tried to extinguish the fire, but eventually, the fire brigade had to be informed. Nearby shopkeepers also came out of their shops. A total of 3 to 4 fire tendres of the fire department reached the spot. The fire could be controlled after about two and a half hours of hard work.
It was fortunate that the employees working in the showroom immediately came out as soon as the fire was detected, otherwise, there could have been loss of life. A fire brigade official said that the clothes kept inside the showroom had been burnt due to the fire.
