Massive fire engulfs moving car in Barnala: Driver burnt to death

A moving Alto car caught fire in Barnala district. Due to which the driver in the car died after getting burnt in the fire. The accident took place on Moga bypass of Barnala.

The deceased is a resident of Daraj village of Barnala, who had come to Barnala for some work after serving in a religious camp in his village in the morning. Police and fire brigade vehicles immediately reached the spot and extinguished the fire in the car.

Had come to Barnala for some work

Jasvir Singh, a relative of the deceased, said that this 32-year-old Jagtar Singh, a resident of Daraj village had came to Barnala for some work. During which his moving car caught fire. He was the only breadwinner in the house. He has two small children aged 10-12 years.

Fire department brought the fire under control

Fire officer Jaspreet Singh said that he had received information that a moving Alto car had caught fire. After which his fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and extinguished the fire in the car. He said that nowadays the temperature is very high due to heat. Due to which the possibility of fire increases. Due to which people should avoid going out in vehicles during the afternoon.

SHO gave information about the case

SHO Nirmal Singh said that information was received about a fire in an Alto car on Moga bypass of Barnala. Police came to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire with the help of common people, but the fire could not be controlled. There was a person in the vehicle, who was completely burnt. After this, the fire brigade reached and extinguished the fire. The deceased has been identified from the number of the vehicle and the family has been informed.
