Meeting of Akal Takht Sahib today; appointment of two granthis, portraits of Khalistan supporters in museum to be discussed

Amritsar: Today, on Monday, the Jathedars of the five Takhts are going to hold a meeting at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest religious institution of the Sikhs in Amritsar. Before this meeting, there will also be a ‘Seva Sambhal program’ of two newly appointed Granthis of Sri Harimandir Sahib.

In this Bhai Kewal Singh, who is serving the five Pyaras in Sri Damdama Sahib, and Bhai Parvinderpal Singh, a resident of Batala, will take over as Granthis.

After this, the meeting will begin in the afternoon under the chairmanship of Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in which the Jathedars of all the five Takhts will arrive. As per the information, Two major topics will be discussed in this meeting the apology given by the rebel faction of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is going to be discussed. Actually, in the apology given by the rebel faction, President Sukhbir Badal has been completely targeted. It is estimated that after this meeting, the problems of Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal may increase.

In the meeting, the matter of putting pictures of Khalistan supporters in the museum of the Golden Temple will also be considered. Just two days ago, Giani Raghbir Singh had expressed his desire to put up the pictures of Khalistani supporters in the museum built in the Golden Temple complex.

Consideration is going on to put up the pictures of three terrorists killed since 2023 in the Golden Temple. The first name in this list is of Hardeep Singh Nijjar who was shot dead in Surrey, British Columbia on 18 June 2023. The second name in this list is of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar who was shot dead in Lahore on 6 May 2023.

At the same time, the third name is of Gajinder Singh, who hijacked an Indian Airlines plane in 1981 and took it to Lahore in Pakistan. He died few days ago in Pakistan.
