Posing as policemen posted in the CIA staff of Ludhiana Police Commissionerate, an employee of a private firm was kidnapped on a bike near Cheema Chowk and robbed of cash worth Rs 14 lakh. On receiving information, Moti Nagar police reached the spot and started investigation.
Police suspect that the person has fabricated the story of robbery. Police have registered an FIR against a person named Harpreet alias Harry on the complaint of his employee Rajan Goyal.
ADCP City-4 Prabhjot Singh said that he received a call from Harpreet Harry, who claimed that his employee had sent him to Cheema Chowk to collect payment from a businessman. When he was returning to the firm with the money, two bike-borne men claiming to be policemen of the CIA staff stopped him on the pretext of checking and accused him of possessing black money.
The complainant told that the accused made him sit on their bike on the pretext of investigation and kept roaming the bike here and there. An hour later, the accused left him near Cheema Chowk and fled with a bag full of cash.
The ADCP also said that the accused is repeatedly changing his statement. The investigation is on and the police will soon solve the case.
