Mohali Building Collapse: Police arrest building owner and contractor

Mohali: In a major operation, the police have arrested 2 people in the Mohali building accident. The arrested people include the building owner Parvinder, Gagandeep, and the building contractor. At the site of the building collapse, 23 hours of continuous rescue operations were completed with the cooperation of the NDRF and the army, police, municipal corporation, and health department. SSP Deepak Pareek and municipal corporation commissioner T. Benith said that the major operation to rescue the people trapped in the rubble, the exact number of whom could not be known initially, got courage when a seriously injured girl was pulled out of the rubble.

After this, after the operation that lasted till 4.30 pm on Sunday, the NDRF. It was clarified that there is no possibility of any other person being buried under the debris.

Giving information about the deaths during the accident, Acting Deputy Commissioner Viraj S. Tidke said that till the completion of this entire operation, two deaths were reported, one of whom is Drishti (20) from Himachal and the other is Abhishek Dhanwal (30) from Ambala.

He said that before declaring the completion of the operation by the NDRF the debris was thoroughly examined. During this operation, the NDRF was provided with the necessary machinery from the Municipal Corporation in addition to the machinery already available with them.
