Mohali: Hearing will be held in the Mohali court on Tuesday, i.e. today in a six-year-old case against Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal. It is a matter of fact that he did not appear in the last four hearings in the court. The lawyers told the court that Gippy Grewal is still abroad for his work commitments.
The lawyers demanded more time from the court as one of his films is being shot there abroad. Once a bailable warrant was also issued against him. He was also asked to post a surety bond of Rs 5,000.
This matter dates back to 31 May 2018 when Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal received a voice and text message on WhatsApp from an unknown number. In the message, he was asked to talk with gangster Dilpreet Singh Baba. The message was sent to demand ransom. It read, ” You should talk, otherwise your condition will become like that of Parmish Verma and Chamkila. After this, Gippy Grewal complained about it to Mohali Police.”
Mohali police had registered a case on the complaint of Gippy Grewal in 2018. Now Gippy Grewal is being called to testify the complaint lodged by him. At the time he received this threat, he was out of Punjab for the promotion of his film ‘Carry on Jatta 2’.
