Mohali: Police lodge complaint against two travel agents on deported youths complaint

A case has been registered against the accused under sections 143, 316 (2), 318 (4) of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure and the Immigration Act.

On the complaint of a youth from Mohali deported from America, the police have registered a case against two travel agents of Ambala, Haryana. The accused have been identified as Gurjinder Antal and Mukul, residents of Ambala Cantt. Both the agents had sent the youth to America after taking Rs 45 lakh from him. The victim alleges that when he was stuck on the way for four months, they talked about sending him back to India.

On this, the agents sent an audio message saying that now he will have to go, there is no question of turning back. The accused had taken all the money before reaching America. He has submitted all the evidence related to this to the police. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 143, 316 (2), 318 (4) of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure and the Immigration Act.

Taranveer Singh had given a complaint to the police in this regard. The police is now conducting raids to arrest the accused in this case.

Taranveer has told in his complaint to the police that both the accused Gurjinder Antal and Mukul are business partners. He met the accused through his friend Gursharan Singh resident Boothgarh. Accused Gurjinder is a distant relative of my friend. On July 10, 2024, he gave his passport to both the accused. Gurjinder Singh had told him that he would send him to USA by flight. Not only this, he would also arrange work for him there. He has good links there. For this he will have to pay Rs 45 lakh.

A special investigation team has been formed by the Punjab government to investigate the case of people deported from America. Apart from this, 11 FIRs have been registered by the police so far. At the same time, the government has made it clear that every possible help will be provided to the victims from their side. They will be provided loans and other things to start their life afresh.
