Move of BJP to end democracy, AAP-Congress will move to HC: Raghav Chadha

He said that BJP is doing all this because it is scared from its defeat in the elections.

Chandigarh: On the deferment of Chandigarh Mayoral elections, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said that the move to postpone Mayoral elections is part of BJP dirty tricks to end democracy. He also said that Both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have decided to approach High court for justice and ensure that the mayoral elections are held in a free and fair way.

While talking with media following elections were postponed, Raghav Chadha said that it is clear that the INDIA alliance is winning the election and the BJP is losing. He said that BJP is doing all this because it is scared from its defeat in the elections.

He further requested the Election Commission to appoint another presiding officer. It should be noted that as per circular issued by MC Chandigarh, The elections were postponed due to ill health of the presiding officer Anil Masih.

Raghav Chadha further said, “Election should take place today. We had valid passe to enter the election building, but we were told that entry had been closed as the presiding officer had suddenly fallen ill. To end democracy and free and fair elections in the country, BJP will do anything.”

Today, Chandigarh Mayoral elections were postponed till further notice because of the ill health of the Presiding officer Anil Masih.

The move to postpone elections led to uproar among the workers and leaders of AAP and Congress. If we look at the numbers, then currently out of 35, BJP has 14 councillors whereas on second spot there is AAP with 13. Congress party has seven councillors while SAD has one member.
