Jalandhar: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion across Jalandhar on Monday. The Muslim Community gathered at various locations in the city to offer Namaz and seek peace and happiness for all. Prayers were held at several mosques and Eidgahs, with people joining in unity to mark the special occasion.
In One of the largest and most historic Eidgahs located on the Gulab Devi road., Namaz began at 9 am. the mosque management committees had been preparing for the prayers in advance, ensuring a smooth and organized gathering. Nasir Salmani, former member of the Minority Commission and head of the Eidgah, confirmed that arrangements had been made with coordination from the Municipal Corporation and Police administration.
Among those who Participated in the prayers were prominent political figures, including Charanjit Singh Channi, Member of Parliament for Jalandhar and Former CM of Punjab and Punjab Police ADGP MF Farooqui. The leaders offered prayers alongside the community and extended their warm wishes of “EID Mubarak”, hugging and sharing joyful moments with the attendees.
The event was marked by tight security, ensuring the safety nd smooth conduct of the celebrations. The celebrations also highlighted the harmony between different communities in Jalandhar, as Eid was observed not only as a religious occasion but as time for fostering peace and goodwill.
