International training on medicine quality to be held at NIPER Mohali: 25 representatives from 16 countries to attend program

Mohali: The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), located in Mohali, will teach foreign representatives how to maintain the quality of medicines. Under the special program of the Government of India, the Pharmaceutical GMP (Goods Manufacturing Practice, Audit, and Self Inspection) program is going to be held in Mohali’s NIPER. This two-week-long program.

Mohali: The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), located in Mohali, will teach foreign representatives how to maintain the quality of medicines. Under the special program of the Government of India, the Pharmaceutical GMP (Goods Manufacturing Practice, Audit, and Self Inspection) program is going to be held in Mohali’s NIPER.

This two-week-long program will be under the India-Pacific Island Cooperation. Only the countries associated with it will be able to take training on maintaining the quality of medicines. It will be organized from 19 August to 30 August. 25 participants from 16 countries will participate in the program. These include participants from Ethiopia, the Maldives, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Tajikistan, Niger, Sierra Leone, Armenia, Malawi, Botswana, and Ghana.

NIPER Professor Dr. Abhay Sangamwar said that this program has been running for 24 years for those countries that are producers of medicines, but they need best practices to maintain the quality.

NIPER Director Prof. Dulal Panda said that NIPER has been organizing such training programs for 24 years. It will be inaugurated on 19 August 2024 at 11 am. The program will have lectures by experts from the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and regulatory agencies. In this, they will get information about good manufacturing practices and good library practices in NIPER.
