Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Punjab arrested the person who supplied arms to terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa’s gang on Friday. The accused has been identified as Baljeet Singh, alias Rana Bhai, a resident of Madhya Pradesh. The NIA has produced the accused in Mohali court. The court has sent the accused on remand until July 23.
The NIA’s investigation has revealed that the accused used to provide arms to the gang members in Punjab. The accused used these weapons to carry out terrorist activities, including extortion from traders and others.
Earlier, the NIA had arrested an accused, Gurpreet Singh Gopi, in a case registered in 2023. He was identified as Landa’s associate and another Khalistani terrorist, Satnam Singh Satta.
On July 10, 2023, the NIA itself took cognizance and registered this case. An investigation revealed that Baljit Singh had conspired to provide arms to various banned Khalistani terrorist organizations to destabilize India by carrying out violent acts in Punjab and other places.
Both Landa and Satta are working from foreign to promote terror in India. NIA has claimed that it is committed to taking action against Khalistani terrorists.
