In this accident, mother and daughter died, in which Mahinder Kaur (65) and Karamjit Kaur (52) died, while two children, a girl named Gaganjot Kaur (15) also died in the accident. Apart from this, another child Sukhpreet Singh (7) fell into the canal, police is searching him.

According to the information received, more than 15 women, children and men from Nizampur, Dangowal and Chhibra villages under Payal police station had gone to offer obeisance at Dera Baba Vadbhag Singh Ji yesterday.

This morning when all the family members bowed down and were going back to their village from Baba Vadbhag Singh in a new Mahindra Bolero, the vehicle lost its balance on the bank of Sirhind canal near village Bahlolpur and fell down about 30 feet from the road.

Of course, the trees prevented the vehicle from falling into the canal, but one child, Sukhpreet Singh, fell into the water and was swept away, while all the others were seriously injured.

In this accident, two children died on the spot, while the woman Mahendra and Karamjit Kaur, who are said to be mother and daughter, died during treatment in the hospital.

12 injured pilgrims are undergoing treatment at the Chamkaur Sahib Hospital, many of them are said to be in a critical condition. The people gathered at the spot called a crane to pull out the vehicle and the injured were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
