NIA Announces 10 Lakh Cash Reward on Gangster Goldy Brar; wanted in shooting-extortion case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has expanded its search for designated terrorist Goldy Brar and one other gangster involved in an extortion and shooting incident at a businessman's residence in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has expanded its search for terrorist Goldy Brar and one other gangster involved in an extortion and shooting incident at a businessman’s residence in Chandigarh.

They have announced a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh each for information leading to their arrest. The identities of informants will be kept confidential.

The accused are wanted in case RC-03/2024/NIA/DLI, related to the March 8, 2024, shooting at the businessman’s house. Charges under IPC sections, the UA (P) Act, and the Arms Act have been filed against Satwinder Singh alias Goldy Brar from Adesh Nagar, Punjab, and Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon alias Goldy Rajpura from Rajpura, Punjab.

Goldy Brar, designated as a terrorist under the UAPA, has a Red Corner Notice issued by Interpol and an existing non-bailable warrant. He gained notoriety after claiming responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in a Facebook post. Moose Wala was fatally shot near his village in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022.
