Nihang create commotion at IIM Amritsar campus

Amritsar: A Nihang has created a ruckus on the campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Amritsar, Punjab. He entered the campus with a naked sword and threatened to chop off the hands of the students and management. The frightened students uploaded the video on social media and demanded security from the institute administration, Amritsar administration, and police.

The incident is on the Khandwala campus of IIM Amritsar, located near Guru Nanak Dev University. This video is from a few days ago, at around 6.30 p.m., when the students were shifted from the institute campus to the hostel. During this time, a Sikh Nihang entered wearing a baana and carrying a sword in his hand.

Students of the IIM campus say that as soon as he arrived, the Nihang first beat up the security guard standing at the gate and then entered the campus, threatening him with a sword. He threatened to kill everyone on the campus. After this, he boarded a bus, where he threatened the students, staff, and bus driver.

The students said that they and the staff cannot smoke inside the campus. Therefore, the students go outside the campus to smoke. This Nihang had an objection to this. The Nihang entered the bus and threatened to cut off the hands of those standing outside and smoking cigarettes.

He told the bus driver to explain to everyone that everyone knows about the incident that happened a few days ago. If anyone smokes cigarettes while standing outside, his hands will be cut off.

After this incident, there is an atmosphere of fear on the Amritsar IIM campus. The students have decided not to go out of campus for a few days. Not only this, but through social media, action has also been demanded against the Nihang, who threatened the Amritsar Police Commissionerate.

Tarit Kumar Mandal, Student Affairs Consultant at IIM Campus Amritsar, informed me that security has been increased on campus. The number of security personnel on the campus has increased. At the same time, Amritsar Police has also been informed about this.
