No active Covid cases in Amritsar: Hospitals on alert; Isolation wards ready

Currently, there are more than 1000 active cases in India, of which the highest number of cases are coming from the state of Kerala. Recently, a patient was found in Firozpur district of Punjab, while a corona patient has also died in Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, Amritsar and many other districts are still corona free and no positive case has been reported here. Amritsar’s civil surgeon Dr. Kirandeep Kaur told the media that at present there is no active case of corona in the city,

But the health department is fully prepared. Isolation wards have been set up in the Civil Hospital and Medical Hospital and the staff has been instructed to remain alert. Dr. Kirandeep Kaur said that 3-4 suspected patients were tested recently, but their reports came negative.

Treatment will be free if you are Covid positive

Dr. Kirandeep Kaur said that if anyone shows symptoms like sore throat, headache or difficulty in breathing, then go to the nearest hospital and get tested immediately. If a patient is found positive, his treatment will be free. She said that corona vaccine and medicines are also available in sufficient quantity in Amritsar.

Screening will start at the airport after orders

Dr. Kirandeep said that at present no new advisory has been issued by the government, but as soon as instructions are received, screening will be started at Amritsar International Airport. Teams have been prepared for this.

He appealed to the people of Amritsar not to panic, pay special attention to cleanliness and do not forget to wash hands after returning from a crowded place. The health department is fully prepared to deal with Corona.
