An NRI youth identified as Ramesh Singh, resident of Chakamir, Pathankot foud dead on Pathankot- Amritsar National Highway.
There was an atmosphere of panic near village Parmanand on the Highway, when the local people saw the dead body of a young man lying on the roadside this morning, after which the local people informed the police. Deceased youth, who is an NRI, had returned to his village a few days ago and was returning from a wedding ceremony in his Thar car last night, who was shot dead by unknown people.
At present, the police have taken the dead body into their custody and have started investigating the entire matter.
The deceased youth was identified as Hardev Singh Thakur, son of Ramesh Singh, resident of Chakamir, district Pathankot, Who had returned to his village from Australia just a few days ago.
The family members of the deceased told that the he was returning from a wedding ceremony with his brother-in-law from Tarn Taran late at night. Then he dropped the brother-in-law near Malakpur, after which the deceased youth got a call from someone, and he came back towards district Gurdaspur, when he reached near Parmanand, someone shot the youth and killed him.
He said that he had no enmity with anyone and did not know who shot him, at present he has appealed to the police for justice.
On the other hand, the police who reached the spot are investigating the entire matter and have taken the body into their custody and have started further action.
At present the reasons for the murder are not known. SSP Pathankot himself reached the spot and formed a team to investigate this entire matter and started action.
