Chandigarh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out raids at multiple locations linked to Aam Aadmi Party leader and Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh in connection with a money laundering investigation. The ED teams, supported by local police, launched a search operation at Kulwant Singh’s luxurious residence in the JLPL area of Mohali, which is also associated with his real estate firm, Janta Land Promoters.
According to ED sources, Kulwant Singh was not present at the residence during the raid, but his family members were questioned by officials. Simultaneous searches were conducted at various properties tied to Kulwant Singh across Punjab. The raid were ongoing at the time of this report.
The operation is linked to the ongoing probe into the Pearl Agrotech Corporation Limited (PACL) scam. PACL directors are accused of diverting investors’ money through shell companies, withdrawing it in cash, and funneling it overseas via hawal networks to purchase properties.
The ED suspects connections between these activities and entities associated with Kulwant Singh, who is believed to be the richest MLA in Punjab.
