Kapurthala: As part of the campaign against illegal mining in Kapurthala, the mining department and Dhilwan police raided near the Dhussi dam of the Mand Butala river under a joint operation and seized one JCB machine and four tractor-trolleys. An FIR has also been registered against an unknown accused in Dilwa police station.
According to the information, Mining Inspector Shubham Kumar and the police party were patrolling near the Mand Butala River as part of the campaign against illegal mining. When he reached near the Dhussi dam, he saw some people doing illegal mining with a JCB machine. Seeing the department officials and the police, the JCB drivers fled from the spot. After this, the police team seized four tractor-trolleys and one JCB machine from the spot.
Investigating officer ASI Murta Singh said that the machinery seized from the spot includes a JCB, two Swaraj tractors, and two Mahindra tractor trolleys.
ASI Murta Singh said that based on the statement of JE and Mining Inspector Shubham Kumar of the Mining Department, an FIR has been registered against an unknown accused in Police Station Dhilwan.
