Ludhiana, Punjab: Ekamveer, the only son of DSP City-1 Satnam Singh of Patiala, Punjab, died in a road accident on the Bathinda-Chandigarh National Highway at Phagguwal village near Bhawanigarh in Sangrur district. His friend Harjot Singh was seriously injured in the accident.
Hearing the screams of injured Harjot, passersby gathered around. With the help of passersby, the police control room was informed. Both the youths were taken out of the car and taken to CHC, where doctors declared Ekamveer dead, while his friend Harjot was referred to Rajindra Hospital due to his critical condition.
After the accident, traffic was disrupted at the spot. Police personnel got the road cleared by morning.
Ekamjit Singh was returning from Sangrur
According to information, DSP Satnam Singh’s son Ekamvir Singh was returning to Patiala with his friend Harjot after attending a function in Sangrur. At around 1.30 am, when they reached near Phagguwal in Bhawanigarh, the tyre of their car burst and the car overturned on the bridge.
SHO Bhawanigarh said DSP Satnam Singh’s son has died and the other injured is admitted in a private hospital in Patiala. He said, “The car lost balance and overturned.
ASI said that we got information from the control room that a minor accident has happened. With the help of common people, both the youths were taken out with great difficulty. Both were taken to the hospital with the help of ambulance. The team of National Highway did not arrive from 1.30 am to 8 am. Whenever we called, they made the same excuse that the team would be coming in some time. This is often the case at the time of an accident.
