New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired NITI Aayog meeting today. The meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of all states except those ruled by the opposition. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joining the list supported the stand of INDIA bloc and decided not to attend the meeting. Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu criticized the Punjab CM for his decision.

Bittu said, “I have already said that Punjab has lagged far behind because, before the budget, no minister of Punjab government met anyone in Delhi. Due to Punjab government, people of Punjab are not able to take benefit of central government schemes.”

Bittu further added that he had requested Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to meet Prime Minister Modi or attend the GST council meeting to raise the issue of Punjab but instead, the state government boycotted it. He also alleged that ministers of Punjab are involved in embezzlement and misuse of money.

Ravneet Bittu further said that one more possible reason could be Arvind Kejriwal. He said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in jail and therefore doesn’t want the AAP-led Punjab government to take part in the meetings. Ravneet Bittu added that people of Punjab suffer due to the irresponsible actions of the government.

Talking about Mamata Banerjee he said that though Mamata Banerjee speaks against the government but she attended the meeting for development of Bengal.
