Ludhiana Police arrested drug smuggler, 1 kg opium seizes

The accused brings opium at cheap rates from outside states and sells it at expensive rates in Raikot area

Punjab: The police have caught a smuggler who was bringing opium from outside states at a cheap rate and supplying it to the villages of Ludhiana district. Police registered a case against the accused in Sadar Raikot police station and recovered huge quantity of opium from the accused.

The police presented the accused in the court and proceeded further.

Have recovered. The accused has been identified as Shiv Singh, resident of village Khaira Bet, Ludhiana.

Giving information regarding this matter, ASI Sukhdev Singh, posted in the CIA staff, said that he was checking the bus stand of village Talwandi Rai while patrolling with the police party. During this time, they got secret information that the accused brings opium at cheap rates from outside states and sells it at expensive rates in Raikot area of Ludhiana district.


At present the accused is standing at the bus stand village Noorpura waiting for customers to sell opium. A huge quantity of opium may be recovered from the accused. Based on the information, the police raided and arrested the accused.


During this time the police recovered one kg of opium from the accused.

The police took immediate action and registered a case in Sadar Raikot police station. The investigating officer said that the police is interrogating the accused. To which person in Raikot did he supply opium? So that the police can also name that person in the case.
