District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, on Tuesday, directed political parties to obtain prior approval for advertisements on electronic and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and other digital channels from District level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) set up in the office of District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) in District Administrative Complex, here.
Jain emphasized that only pre-certified advertisements may be displayed on these platforms. He further noted that all expenses incurred on such advertisements will be included in the election expenditure account. Additionally, all printed materials, such as pamphlets, posters, and handbills, must include the publisher’s and printer’s names, the number of copies printed, and a declaration from the publisher, with these details submitted to the election office.
For political hoardings, banners, or posters on private properties, Jain mandated written consent from property owners, with the list of consents submitted to the election office.
Reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to a seamless and transparent polling process, Jain urged political parties to refrain from campaigns that incite hatred or use religious places for electioneering.
Seeking full cooperation from political parties, Jain assured that the administration is dedicated to ensuring a free, fair, and smooth electoral process in Ludhiana West by-elections.
