Election Commission offers Rs.5000 incentives to BLOs to boost voting turnout

The BLOs who increase the voter percentage by 10 per cent or more compared to 2019 will be given a cash reward of Rs.5000

Punjab: In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for June 1ongoing SVEEP activities persist in the district as per the instructions of the Election Commission. In line with these efforts Election Commission has resolved to recognizeand reward the BLOs for their diligent voter education initiatives aimed at maximumizing the voter turnout during polling.

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Dr Senu Duggal said that according to the instructions of the Election Commission, the BLOs who increase the voter percentage by 10 per cent or more compared to 2019 will be given a cash reward of Rs.5000 and will be honoured in a formal ceremony at the state level function. Apart from this, the BLOs of the booths with a voting percentage of more than 75 per cent will also be given prize money of Rs.5000.

She said that for this, the voter guide and invitation letter prepared by the Election Commission have been sent to every house and the voter slips have also been distributed from house to house through BLOs so that the voter knows at which booth his vote is and his In which sequence number is the name entered in the voter list?

Dr.Duggal also appealed to all the residents of the district to participate more in this festival of democracy and every voter must use his vote limit on June 1. She said that it is our right and our duty to exercise our right to vote. She said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, all kinds of arrangements are being made at the polling booths for the convenience of every voter.
