President Droupadi Murmu on Punjab visit: Security tightened, traffic advisory issued

People have been advised to use the following routes for travel today so that they do not face inconvenience due to the VIP route.

President Draupadi Murmu is on a visit to Punjab today on Tuesday. She will first attend the convocation of AIIMS and Central University in Bathinda. While in the evening, a civic reception program has been organized in her honor at the Indian School of Business in Mohali. The Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab and Haryana will also attend this program.

In view of the President’s visit, a radius of five kilometers in Mohali has been declared a no-flying zone. No flying object of any kind will be allowed in this area. At the same time, Mohali Police has released a traffic route plan.

The President is staying at the Raj Bhavan

This is the first time that a President will stay at the Punjab Raj Bhavan for two days. She reached Chandigarh yesterday evening, where she was given a grand welcome. Senior officials of Bathinda and Mohali are handling the situation themselves to ensure that there is no negligence during her visit. Preparations have been going on at the Indian School of Business for fifteen days.

SSP Deepak Parikh is regularly visiting the venue. Meanwhile, ADGP (NRI) Praveen Kumar himself has reached Mohali and reviewed the security arrangements. Tomorrow she will attend the convocation of PU.
