Chandigarh: All toll plazas will be made free by farmers in Punjab on October 17 i.e. today while on October 18, fronts will be established outside the houses of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and BJP leaders. Mainly, a march will be held outside the houses of BJP leaders Arvind Khanna, Praneet Kaur and all the ministers and MLAs of AAP. This decision of making toll plazas free and protest outside BJP and AAP leaders’ residences has been taken by Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan. This decision of protest against both Centre and State was taken for delay in procurement of paddy.
Kisan leader Joginder Singh Ugrahan and General Secretary Sukhdev Singh Kokri Kalan said that the 5-member state leadership team of the organization has taken this decision. According to the decision, the protest will continue day and night. Farmers and workers have many demands. Uninterrupted procurement of paddy at minimum support price is one of the main demands of farmers and workers.
In view of the slow procurement of paddy in the markets of Punjab, the Indian Farmers’ Union has made a big announcement. The leaders of the organization said that from October 17, the entire Punjab toll plazas will be made free and from October 18, fronts will be set up outside the houses of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.
