Protesting farmers at Ladowal toll plaza meet NHAI officials, big decision likey today

After no immediate response and action from the concerned officials, it is being said that Farmers had decided to put a permanent lock on the toll plaza on June 30, i.e. tomorrow.

Ludhiana: Farmers have been protesting against the hike in toll fees at Ladowal toll plaza. It is being said that a big decision can be made today as the farmers held a meeting with officials of the National Highway Authority of India. Farmer Unions’ have been there for many days. The protest against the hiked toll fees started on June 16.

After no immediate response and action from the concerned officials, it is being said that Farmers had decided to put a permanent lock on the toll plaza on June 30, i.e. tomorrow.

Farmers met NHAI officials and district administration today. The protesting farmers are adamant about reducing the toll fees. Ever since the protest of farmers at the toll plaza began, commuters have been passing from the toll plaza for free costing huge loss to the toll operators.

It is expected that a big decision can be made today therefore, security has been increased at the Ladowal toll. There may be a big uproar following which the administration in action mode.

Protesting farmers have been saying that Ladowal Toll plaza is the most expensive toll plaza in Punjab. terming the hike unreasonable, Farmers argued that toll operators have been increasing the fees without any reason. They added that increase in the toll fees has been hiked for the third time in shot span.
